Lyrics by Edward Kleban
The Covedale Theater opens its new season with a very ambitious production of A Chorus Line and dances away with the prize.
A Chorus Line boasts an insightful script (it earned the show the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for drama, seldom given to a musical) with several opportunities for actors. Director Matthew Wilson has shaped those moments effectively, especially Ben Goodman as introverted Paul San Marco.
I've usually not been impressed with performances I have seen at regional playhouses and I'm not really a fan of musicals.....except for A Chorus Line which drew me to the Covedale for the first time.
